Constructivism (Jean Piaget & Lev Vygotsky):
Concepts of truth, honesty, and authenticity are subjective, based on the individual and their perception of the world.
Reality is co-created, constructed by the individual based on what they perceive and experience.

Five Basic Themes of Constructivism
Active agency: people are active participants in shaping their lives. They influence their experiences through choices, actions, and the focus of their attention.
Order: People seek order and organization and to make meaning of their experiences. Too much order can lead to emotional over control and too little order can lead to loss of balance
Self and Identity: When our sense of self becomes inflexible or fragmented, we are likely to experience both intrapersonal and interpersonal difficulties
Social-symbolic processes: Order, meaning, and identity stem largely from social interactions and symbolic processes
Dynamic dialectical development: We seek balance and may resist change in health and self-protecting ways. Some disorganization is necessary for reorganization.
